The number of bald eagles dying on Michigan roads has risen over the past six years. During winter, when lakes freeze, the eagles rely more on scavenging along roads, targeting roadkill. As the eagle feeds, traffic that approaches can startle it, causing it to fly off into oncoming traffic.

A video demonstration of SARTRE, or Safe Road Trains for the Environment. The idea is to use radio signals from a lead vehicle to determine the path of a number of following vehicles. The following vehicles would steer, brake, and drive themselves, allowing for the driver(passenger) to focus on other things.

Due to the rising costs of fuel in 2008 and improvements in technology, 65.4% of vehicles produced in 2010 had 4 cylinder engines. This is a increase from 61.9% in 2009.

Infiniti finished 2011 with a flurry of sales, upping its December results 37% from a year ago -- three times as much as the industry's overall 11% climb. That capped an impressive year in which Nissan's upscale brand moved 103,411 cars and trucks, a 28% increase. One German luxury car manufacturer reports that while it has been stealing customers from its other European competitors, it has been losing some buyers to Infiniti.
