If you have any doubts about information you submit, do not submit it.
Do not submit information you do not want to share, just to be safe.
On RideFix.com, you manage your account through your headquarters(click on myHQ or your user name at the top of any page).
While in your Headquarters, you can navigate through the various sections by using the side menu.
To change your password, click on the "Account" bar, then "Manage Account". Scroll down, and you will see the change password form.
To edit your profile, you can click the "Network" bar and the "(edit)" link next to the "Profile" link. You can also edit it by clicking on the "Account" bar and the "Manage Profile" link.
To edit your privacy settings, click on the "Account" bar and the "Privacy" link. To set the level of user for each action, simply select it from the drop down box. When you have the settings you want, click save.
Each level contains ALL of the levels listed below it. So, if you choose "Logged Users", your friends would be included. If you chose "Friends", then only your friends would be allowed that action.
The "Search Results" setting determines whether or not your profile is displayed in search results.
The "View Profile" setting determines whether or not your profile page is viewable. If someone who does not have this allowance tries to view your page, they will receive a message that your profile is set to private, and not be able to see any information aside from your picture and user name.
The "Contact Me" setting determines whether or not a user may write you a message or honk at you. This setting will not apply for open message threads. So, if you start a conversation with someone, and switch your settings to private, that conversation can still be continued. It also means that you can start conversations with people, but they cannot start them with you.
The "Bumper" setting determines whether or not a user may slap a sticker on your bumper.
To check any messages you have, you can click on the top of any page where it says inbox. When you have a new message, "inbox" will change to "New Message(1)" with the number being how many unread messages you have. In other words, it's like email.
Contact List: Your contact list is your friends list. Users you contact that you are not friends with will not appear on this list.
RideFix.com will send you emails when certain actions are taken, but you can adjust this as you see fit. To edit your notification settings, click on the "Account" bar and the "Notifications" link. Simply check each box where you want to receive an email.
Friend Request: Checking this box means you will receive an email when a user requests you as a friend.
Messaging: Checking this box means you will be notified when you receive a message. You can elect to have the message included in this email as well by click the box labeled so.
My Bumper: Checking this box means you will be notified when a user slaps a sticker on your bumper.
You can view all of your friends, reference bookmarks and reference contributions in your HQ.
To log out of RideFix.com, you can click the link in the top right corner of any page or click the "Logout" bar in the HQ side menu.
